About time for a new post

I have not updated this blog in about a million years.  Most of the reason for it is I have not been knitting much lately.  My life is busy and I just didn't have time to get started.  I love knitting and will always knit so I did things here and there and hats have become a favorite project.  They are fast, easy and people actally wear them.  Some friends of mine recently sent me a picture after they went hiking in the Wasatch Mountains last Sunday and ended up where there is still snow.  They each reached into their packs and pulled out the hats I knitted for them last year and thought it was worth a picture.  I love it, not only because they are wearing my handiwork but because I am glad they are wearing the hats I made for them because I love them.

It has been awhile since I posted here. I have been knitting and this is the last couple of things I completed. Both are knitted with the same pattern but the black one is one size larger than the pink. They are made with a really soft cotton yarn and were given to Anthony's niece for her new baby and Anthony's granddaughter, Athena.

Athena

I decided to make my sister and her daughters hats even though it is almost spring and they will soon have no need for them. The good thing about that is fall will be right around the corner and viola, they will need them again. This hat was supposed to be for a nine year old and since it was so small I gave it to my boyfriend's granddaughter instead and made a new one for my niece. Still too big for Athena but she will grow into it.

Christmas projects

The bag (yes, its the same bag just different positions) was for my sister's birthday but since my sewing machine doesn't work very well I had to borrow one to finish it off and she got it for Christmas.
The socks were given to same sister and the hat my niece.
I made hats for the boys and have plenty of projects to continue to work on. I will post the hats if I can get them to let me take their pictures with them on.

April 2008

I have knitted on this sweater for the past two years. It was for me so it was set aside for other projects but I always came back to it. This is also the sweater I was almost finished with but had no more yarn. While my sister was here I found the exact color (maybe not dye lot) at Michael's and was able to finish it up. The sweater is supposed to have a zipper and I will order one soon so....almost finished but I am wearing it today because I LOVE IT.

Still knitting in my free time

Ha! What free time?
I have a few friends who had babies and need to knit two more sweaters and a pair of booties rather quickly. I got this done and am half way done with one bootie. It's a start.
Remember my lesbian friend from work who was artificially inseminated and got pregnant on the first try? Well.....this is the result, little Lynkin and the sweater I made him and his mom.

Finished sweater.

She told me he was big so I made it big. He will surely grow into it, no big deal.

Isn't he the cutest thing? His mommy loves him very much. I am glad I made him a sweater and got a pic of him in it.
