So far, so good

Amazingly enough this blogging thing worked out quit nicely the first day. I went home and dug out my three projects and worked on one of the baby sweaters. I sewed it together most of the way and left it out on the kitchen counter where I it will be available to me.

When I dug out the cotton number I have been knitting myself I was surprised to find that I am only about five inches into the second sleeve and the rest of the pieces were not there. I panicked. In the middle of making dinner and helping the kids with their homework I kept running downstairs to our unfinished basement to look at where the rest could be.

Since the time I started this sweater and now I moved to a new home and all my extra stuff is topsy turvy. I also know I have a terrible habit of trowing everything out and was horrified that I might have tossed it in the garbage as I have done to so many other seemingly unimportant (at the time) things. Only later to put two and two together and kick myself in the posterior. But all the running up and down paid off and I found the other three pieces of this sweater and am going to finish it up as soon as the baby sweaters are done. I would say by the first snow but with the crazy weather here in the City of Salt, it has already snowed in the valley.

Part of my knitting dilemma is a place to knit. I don't have a place of my own in my new house that I like to knit. My great room is most often taken up by my boyfriend and no he doesn't take up all the room but he has the most annoying habit of changing the channel so much that it is near to impossible to watch TV with him. The living room has no TV or radio and is inhabited by my boyfriend's precious white furniture that I am quite frankly afraid to sit on for any amount of time. The office has not sitting space besides the floor and office chair. My youngest child (15) is often found in here watching something I cannot tolerate on TV and cruising the Internet. I don't like to knit in my bed and have not bought a easy chair for the landing or my room like I have wanted so I ended up in the spare bedroom. My oldest child is often found here watching TV or playing X box or PlayStation but he was tired and went to bed early. In the summer I would often knit on my porch but the fall has left that inhospitable and my knitting chair is now being taken up by a scary guy, for Halloween purposes.

Maybe that easy chair for my room and/or landing will have to start taking precedence.
